The fantasy was that the singer was going to shock the world and cap the coronation of Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democrat party\u2019s 2024 presidential nominee by performing her Harris campaign theme song, \u201cFreedom\u201d in Chicago\u2019s United Center as the balloons and confetti rained down on Harris and her VP pick, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.<br>Only it wasn\u2019t true and never was. It was, however, such a compelling manifestation that even some of the event\u2019s staff were convinced it was happening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>\u201cWe never put out anything about\u00a0Beyonc\u00e9. We denied it every time the media asked us \u2014 even though, by the way, people on\u00a0my staff\u00a0didn\u2019t believe me,\u201d DNC executive producer Ricky Kirshner told\u00a0The Hollywood Reporter. \u201cI kept getting texts from news organizations saying, \u2018When is Beyonc\u00e9 coming out?\u2019 But come on, we have the biggest star, the Democratic nominee for president.
